Product Details

1855, Edward Challinor & Co., Kin Shan pattern 9.5” plate Stairs lead to a couple of tiered buildings with an arched bridge in between. On the bridge are two figures, one holding a parasol. Another figure is smoking a long pipe at the top of the stairs by the building at the right. A fruit tree with a crooked trunk is in front of the building at the left. There is an island in the distance with other buildings and a bridge between them. A diapered circlet with scrolled insets defines the well. Two motifs alternate to decorate the rim. One is a triangular shape, the other a large blossom with leaves. E. Challinor & Co. This firm operated in Fenton, Staffordshire from 1853-1862.
