A substantial Victorian literary anthology containing selections from hundreds of notable writers, including Addison, Bacon, Coleridge, Swift, Wordsworth, Charles Lamb, Hume and many others. Knight described the complete work as containing selections from approximately 300 writers. Matching burgundy cloth bindings with elaborate gilt and black spine decoration and gilt lettering. Includes Volumes I, II, IV, V, and VI. Volume III is NOT present. Five books total. Bindings show age-related wear, particularly at the spine ends, edges, and corners.
