This is a large Art Deco glass vacuum-style coffee carafe with a wide bulbous body, platinum/silver banded decoration, a chromed metal collar and pour spout, and a black Bakelite handle and lid finial. The chrome band is embossed "WHITE CROSS COFFEE" and "CROSS VAC," a housewares brand associated with National Stamping & Electric Works of Chicago, whose White Cross line included coffee makers, percolators and small electric appliances. Styling, materials and markings place its manufacture in the mid-1930s to mid-1940s, when glass vacuum and drip coffee servers of this type were at peak popularity.
