Charming vintage pair of ceramic elephant figurines featuring a larger mama elephant with her matching baby. Both have raised trunks for good luck and beautiful hand-painted details including soft pink ears, black accents, gold tusks and trim, and a distinctive speckled finish. These appear to be mid-century Japanese export pieces, likely dating to the 1950s–60s. The larger elephant has a circled “68” mark on the underside. Maker has not been definitively identified. Sold together as a pair. Wonderful vintage condition with lovely age-related character and glaze crazing visible on the larger elephant. Please see photos for condition.
