Vintage cream-glazed ceramic puppy made by Block Pottery of California during the 1940s. This Mid-Century kitsch design features the company's stylized "open eyes" expression, droopy ears with hand-painted pink accents, turquoise eyes, painted eyelashes, and black paw details. The hollow opening in the back was designed to hold cotton balls, creating a fluffy cotton-ball tail. It can also serve as a small planter, vanity holder, or countertop display. Approx. Measurements: Top to bottom: 4.5 in Good preowned condition. Visible paint loss appears on the ears, eyes, facial details, and paws, with surface marks, and heavy wear to the underside felt. The remaining painted details are water-sensitive and should not be washed or soaked, as more color may come away.
