Up for sale is an antique Japanese Satsuma / Awata crackle glaze pottery small dish measuring 3 5/8 inches in diameter. Dating from the late Meiji to early Taisho period (c. late 19th to early 20th century), it features raised enamel (moriage) hand-painted artwork depicting two standing figures in traditional robes over a cream crackle-glazed earthenware ground. The bottom displays an impressed seal mark for Gyokuzan (玉山) inside the foot ring. Excellent vintage condition with light, age-appropriate glaze crazing and strong enamel details. Perfect for collectors of antique Japanese ceramics.
