Up for sale is an antique Japanese Satsuma / Awata crackle glaze pottery small dish measuring 3 5/8 inches in diameter. Dating from the late Meiji to early Taisho period (c. late 19th to early 20th century), it features raised enamel (moriage) hand-painted artwork depicting two seated figures in ornate traditional robes set against a buff crackle-glazed body. The underside bears an impressed mark for Gyokuzan (玉山) inside the foot ring. Excellent antique condition with light, age-appropriate glaze crazing and strong enamel details. Perfect addition to an antique Japanese ceramics collection.
