Beautiful vintage Bareuther Bavaria porcelain dinner/display plate, made in Waldsassen, Germany during the immediate post-WWII U.S. occupation period, circa 1945–1949. This lovely approximately 10-inch plate features an elegant scalloped and embossed rim accented with delicate gold trim. Scattered floral bouquets decorate the plate in shades of pink, raspberry, purple, yellow and soft green, including a striking purple tulip and romantic garden flowers. A tiny floral sprig decorates the center. Clearly marked on the reverse with the Bareuther crown backstamp, BAVARIA, GERMANY U.S.-ZONE, identifying it as an early postwar piece produced for the American-zone market. A wonderful piece of German porcelain history as well as beautiful cottage, grandmillennial, romantic or floral décor. Lovely displayed on a plate wall, in a china cabinet, or mixed with vintage floral dinnerware. Vintage condition with age-appropriate wear, including some wear to the gold edging and light surface wear.
