Vintage Japanese lusterware creamer or small pitcher featuring a figural black-and-white dog handle. The pitcher has a pearly iridescent luster finish in white with soft blue and lavender tones, accented by bold black bands around the upper and lower body. The luster application creates swirling, rainbow-like variations that change with the light. The dog appears to be peeking over the side of the pitcher, with black shaded ears and markings and hand-applied facial details. The underside bears a red circular three-spoke mark reading “MADE IN JAPAN.” Approximately 4 3/4" tall. Please see measurement photographs for additional dimensions. CONDITION: Very good vintage condition. No chips, cracks or repairs observed. There are minor surface marks, small glaze/kiln specks, variations in the hand-applied decoration and normal irregularities in the luster finish consistent with age and manufacture.
