As shown. Green glass 1/9th plate Ambrotype, with mat and protector, no case. Green glass Ambrotypes are rare to come by with ruby glass being the common variant of the standard, clear glass. Please note the cracked glass in third photo. This crack is hidden behind the oval mat from the front side, but it is there. Why I’ve decided to add her to the funeral show — the subject is wearing a ring on her left hand, fourth finger. She wears a black bracelet on her right wrist. She has black netting around the back of her hair. The brooch on her chest appears large, prominent and onyx. This brooch could be a memento mori to a loved one that she wears over her off-the-shoulder evening dress. We will likely never know with certainty, but this is my interpretation.
