Polished end cut from a fossil Columbian mammoth tooth recovered in South Carolina. This specimen has natural pyrite mineralization throughout, giving parts of the tooth a metallic gold/brassy appearance. The end cut shows a unique cross-section of the enamel plates and internal tooth structure, with the polished face bringing out both the pattern and pyritization.
