Oceanfire Apophyllite, a striking new mineral find from Jalgaon, India, featuring brilliant, glassy apophyllite crystals growing across fiery red volcanic basalt accented by green and multicolored celadonite. The front of this specimen is covered with sharply formed, highly reflective apophyllite crystals that create an intricate landscape of glass-clear terminations and shimmering facets. Beneath the transparent crystals, colorful celadonite forms miniature green and multicolored mineral gardens, adding depth and contrast against the rich volcanic matrix. From the reverse, the specimen tells an entirely different geological story. Its exposed reddish-brown basalt is densely textured with natural vesicles—rounded cavities formed by trapped gases in ancient cooling lava. Small mineral-filled pockets appear throughout the porous volcanic stone, preserving a visible record of the environment in which these crystals developed.
