Original 1891 Union Pacific Railway Company expense voucher, dated July 17, 1891, issued to the Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis & Omaha Railway, documenting expenses connected with operating and maintaining the South Omaha Stock Yards. The handwritten account records Union Pacific’s proportion of stock-yard operating expenses for May 1891, with detailed railroad accounting and a total of approximately $365.71. Loaded with period character, including bold purple and red/pink auditor, comptroller, treasury and payment stamps, handwritten calculations, approvals and multiple original signatures. Approx. size: 8 x 11 inches. Double sided with the original “Distribution of Accounts” ledger on reverse. Comes folded as originally filed. Approximately 135 years old. Great crossover piece for Union Pacific, Chicago railroad, Nebraska, stockyard and 19th-century ephemera amd train collectors.
