Vintage Chinese folding hand fan featuring a detailed traditional Chinese town and riverside scene with buildings, crowds, bridges, boats, and landscapes (I believe it to be the "Along the River During the Qingming Festival"). The reverse features Chinese calligraphy with red seal-style marks. The fan has a paper leaf with stained wood or bamboo ribs and guards. Measures approximately 12 inches long when folded and approximately 24 inches across when fully opened. A beautiful decorative piece for Asian-inspired, chinoiserie, traditional Chinese, or vintage décor. Pre-owned vintage condition with expected wear from age and use, including creasing/wrinkling along the folds, light discoloration or spotting, and minor edge wear.
