Wonderful original vintage Disney collectible dating to the 1940s–early 1950s. This unusual ceramic “Turnabout” cookie jar features Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse on opposite sides. Both the head/lid and body are double-sided, allowing the jar to be displayed in different Mickey and Minnie combinations. Produced by Leeds China during its early Walt Disney licensing period, these jars are known for their cold-painted details over a glossy ceramic glaze. This example retains portions of the original blue, black, yellow, red and green painted details. There is substantial age-related paint loss, especially to the ears and facial/body details. Glossy ivory/cream ceramic with wonderful early Mickey and Minnie character styling. Please examine all photos carefully for condition. Vintage piece approximately 70–80 years old and sold as pictured. Original paint shows considerable wear from age, and there are three chips in the neck.
