Beautiful antique Russian-language volume of works by Leo Tolstoy, published in St. Petersburg in 1902. Striking original olive cloth binding with gilt Cyrillic lettering, pink and green floral decoration, and ornate embossed spine design. Includes decorative patterned endpapers and period Russian typography throughout. A wonderful turn-of-the-century Russian literary volume with strong Art Nouveau / Jugendstil influence to the binding design. Condition: Good antique condition with age-related wear. Rubbing and fraying at spine ends and corners, edge wear, toning to pages, and some weakness/wear at the inner hinge. Please see photos for condition.
