A signed general admission stub from Loyola Marymount's 113–95 rout of the University of San Francisco at Albert Gersten Pavilion on Wednesday, January 11, 1989 — a 36-point night for Hank Gathers in the middle of the most remarkable individual season in modern college basketball. That 1988–89 campaign was the one that made Gathers a national name: 32.7 points and 13.7 rebounds per game, WCC Player of the Year, and only the second player in NCAA Division I history to lead the country in both scoring and rebounding in the same season. Paul Westhead's run-and-gun Lions were putting up video-game numbers, and this stub is a surviving ticket from one of those nights — a 113-point performance in a conference game, with Gathers accounting for nearly a third of it himself. Just over a year later, on March 4, 1990, Gathers collapsed and died during a WCC tournament semifinal at 23 years old.
