Antique Reinhold Hanke German stoneware beer stein, model #1405 "Card Player," dating to approximately 1910. Features a detailed raised-relief scene of a man playing Skat surrounded by hops, barley and decorative scrollwork. Dark green background with cream and brown relief decoration and an ornate molded handle. The humorous German inscription references playing Skat and roughly translates to: "If you're sitting playing Skat, stay there; your wife will scold you just as well at 10 as at 2." Marked GERMANY 1405 on the underside. Small HB mark incorporated into the relief decoration. This design is documented as Reinhold Hanke model #1405 "Card Player." Good antique condition with expected age-related glaze crazing, surface wear and discoloration. No chips or cracks observed. Please review photos closely for overall condition.
