The 2014 American Silver Eagle is the bullion issue of the year, struck to a mintage of 44,006,000 pieces. Adolph A. Weinman's Walking Liberty, adapted from the half dollar of 1916-1947 and widely regarded as among the most beautiful designs in American coinage, occupies the obverse; the reverse carries John M. Mercanti's heraldic eagle behind a shield, holding an olive branch and arrows beneath thirteen stars, the design used from 1986 until it was replaced in 2021. Struck in 99.9% fine silver, the coin weighs 31.103 grams, measures 40.6 mm in diameter and contains one full troy ounce of silver.
