South Bend automatic fly reel, black painted body with nickel line guard and foot, side mounted release lever and a centre tension screw. SOUTH BEND is embossed on the backplate and confirmed in a close up photo. The upper embossing reads as an automatic fly reel with a model number below it, consistent with the South Bend Oren-O-Matic line. The model number itself is not readable. The paint has worn away and the embossing underneath is too shallow to make out, so it is not stated here rather than guessed at. Condition: heavy paint loss and scuffing across the backplate with some spots of red paint or corrosion. Mechanism present. Sold as a vintage reel, not tested for fishing.
