You are purchasing this stoneware whiskey jug, measuring 6" tall. These jugs were produced around 1973 by companies like McCoy Pottery. This jug features a two-tone rich brown shoulder and handle with a cream colored body and original cork. On the front is the iconic 1930's replica of the oil painting by artist Grant Wood. This picture is referred to as "American Gothic" His painting was to represent a midwestern farmer and his daughter, standing in front of their American gothic style home. The two models were real people. The women was Grant Wood's sister, and the man was the Wood's family dentist. The two were never husband and wife.
