RARE ANTIQUE SPANISH DECORATIVE BOX – JAMES MORAND & CO. / DÉNIA Beautiful and highly unusual antique wooden box featuring original period printed/lithographic decorative panels throughout. The front features a Victorian-era woman with dogs and is prominently marked:“JAMES MORAND & CO.” “DENIA” The box is decorated on all sides with colorful period imagery, including elegant women, floral motifs, cherub/putti imagery, and a romantic dancing couple on the inside of the hinged lid. The lid has an ornate decorative border surrounding the central artwork. The box is constructed of wood with a hinged lid and old metal hardware/fasteners. Age: Estimated late 19th/early 20th century, approximately 1885–1905. Measures 11.5 x 8 x 3 inches.
