This piece starts with a genuine U.S. 35% silver wartime Jefferson nickel and is individually deep-relief laser engraved by TxLooT using a custom 3D depth map. This V2 Dolly tribute is one of my more detailed nickel engravings, featuring a sculpted portrait of Dolly surrounded by intricate background and decorative details — all packed into the tiny surface of a nickel. The artwork is engraved directly into the silver alloy at multiple depths to create real three-dimensional relief and texture. Nothing is printed or painted onto the coin. Every original war nickel has its own wear, toning and surface characteristics, so even when I engrave the same artwork again, the finished result will have its own character.
