Because of this this specific patent stamp, this brooch was manufactured at the tail-end of the Victorian era or during the Edwardian era, roughly between 1898 and 1910. Some “foxing” (orange/brown spotting) is happening with the photo. This type of age-related degradation occurs over time on paper, cardstock, or within the emulsion layers when trapped under glass and exposed to humidity.
