Beautiful antique late-Victorian celluloid photo album, circa 1890s, featuring an ornate pictorial cover of a young woman with flowers, scrolling decoration and decorative metal clasp (non working). Inside are 17 original antique cabinet cards and mounted photographs, including individual and family portraits, plus an original obituary clipping for Mrs. Harvey Glenn, born in Virginia in 1811. One cabinet card retains an elaborate backmark for E. Klauber, Photographer & Art Dealer, 332 Fourth Ave., Louisville, Kentucky, giving this collection wonderful local provenance. Interior pages feature delicate floral and gilt decoration. Original dark textile-covered back shows significant age-related wear/fading. Additional wear, discoloration and patina throughout consistent with age. Please review photos for condition. A beautiful surviving piece of Victorian photography and Louisville history.
