Striking vintage studio pottery vase with a hand-thrown stoneware body, dramatic ruffled/scalloped rim, and an earthy tan glaze accented by free-form black and brown abstract lines and drips. The irregular form and expressive glaze give it a wonderful mid-century modern, Brutalist, organic modern, primitive, and wabi-sabi look. Signed/marked on the underside, though I can’t confidently attribute the maker from the mark alone. The unglazed base and handmade variations add to its artisan character. A great statement piece for moody interiors, collected vintage homes, pottery collections, rustic decor, or modern organic styling. Displays beautifully on its own or with dried branches/flowers.
