A vintage Italian hand-carved alabaster trinket/powder box, likely from the 1950s–1970s. These round, hinged stone boxes were popular mid-century vanity accessories, hand-carved from genuine alabaster and finished with a hand-applied floral decal — in this case, a violets bouquet tied with a ribbon — under a glossy coating, with a gold-tone metal hinge rim.
