Set of 6 vintage butterscotch Bakelite dice, each measuring approximately 5/8 inch (16 mm) with contrasting recessed black pips and classic rounded corners. These came from an older mixed collection of dice and game pieces and have the rich yellow/butterscotch coloration associated with vintage phenolic/Bakelite gaming pieces. The material was evaluated non-destructively. A representative die measures approximately 5/8" and weighs 5.6 grams. Hydrostatic testing produced an approximate specific gravity of 1.37, consistent with dense phenolic/Bakelite-type material. The die also sinks immediately in water. No destructive hot-needle or burn testing has been performed. Because there is no original packaging or manufacturer's marking present, the exact maker and production date are unknown.
