Compiled by renowned mid-century food expert Countess Morphy, it documents traditional regional cooking from all corners of the globe long before international ingredients were commonplace in the UK. Condition: Fair. It shows the authentic age you would expect from a 77-year-old kitchen companion. Cover: Spine wear and fraying at the cloth edges (no dust jacket). Binding: The internal hinge has started to crack/split at the seam (see close-up photos). The text block is still holding together and pages are not loose, but it needs to be handled with a bit of care. Pages: Inner pages are clean, free of kitchen spills, and perfectly readable. Page 354 does have a tear as pictured. Special Note: Features a beautiful, touching handwritten ink inscription on the front page dated June 30th, 1951, referencing an anniversary and "the long struggle which went before" a lovely piece of social history
