Vintage Crusader carpenter's try square featuring a steel blade with a solid hardwood stock believed to be rosewood, brass edging/fittings, and brass rivets marked “H.” The steel blade is clearly stamped CRUSADER with the distinctive symbol beneath the name. Crusader was a vintage American hardware/tool brand associated with Belknap Hardware & Manufacturing Co. of Louisville, Kentucky, with the brand dating to the 1930s. Most importantly, this isn't just a display piece — the square has been tested and is still dead nuts square. The blade and stock remain solid and functional. Shows honest age and use throughout, including oxidation/patina, scratches, staining and wear to the steel, wood and brass. It has intentionally NOT been polished or restored, preserving its vintage character and patina. Please examine photos closely for exact condition.
