Manufacturer: Hemingray Glass Company (Covington, Kentucky / Muncie, Indiana). Model: HEMINGRAY No. 40. The reverse side is embossed with "MADE IN U.S.A.". Collector Classification: Known among hobbyists as a CD 152 shape profile. Production Era: Originally developed around 1910 as an experimental project with AT&T to create a new standard telephone/telegraph wire insulator. It was mass-produced heavily through 1921. features a double-petticoat design and a skirt bottom ringed with round drip points (the small "beads" on the bottom rim designed to channel rainwater away from the electrical current). Its coloration is the classic "Hemingray Aqua" (a translucent blue-green).
