Product Details
Presented here is a vintage LeJour Super Meangraf chronograph dating to the early 1970s. Designed with motorsport timing in mind, this distinctive 39mm watch features a black racing dial with bright red and orange accents, contrasting white sub-dials, and a checkered-flag motif at 6 o’clock. The Super Meangraf was part of a generation of French racing chronographs developed during the growing popularity of motorsports in the late 1960s and early 1970s. LeJour was closely associated with the French watchmaker Yema and was used to market a number of its watches outside France, particularly in the United States. Designed with motorsport timing in mind, the Super Meangraf combines a two-register chronograph with specialized scales for measuring elapsed time, distance, and speed. This manual-wind chronograph is powered by a mechanical movement and features a central chronograph seconds, a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, and small seconds at 9 o’clock. The watch is housed in a 39mm tonneau-shaped case with a black rotating bezel graduated in miles. It features a black dial, applied hour markers, an outer elapsed-time scale, red central chronograph hand, and the distinctive vertical racing stripes running through the center of the dial. This example is fitted with a stainless steel bracelet. It has been inspected by our in-house watchmaker and is running and keeping time.
