Antique 1825 hand painted tole work dome top desk storage box. With metal removable tray and divided storage with ink bottle holder in the lower area of the box. Has fabulous crimped edge border framing the box. The exterior features hand painted designs in ocher, sienna and black with heavy alligatoring to the paint surface- adding gorgeous aged texture and character. Has upper removable tray inside and a divided base area with an ink bottle holder. Has key which fits keyhole and turns the lock but doesn't actually lock the box. Has paint loss on all 4 legs. Measures: 9.5" w x 7"d x 6.25" h
