The Pilea baby tears, botanically known as Pilea depressa, is a charming, low-growing plant native to the Caribbean. It features trailing reddish stems packed with hundreds of tiny, thick, glossy green leaves that form a dense, mat-like mound. ​Because it cascades so beautifully, it works great in hanging baskets, terrariums, or spilling over the sides of a pot. It thrives in bright, indirect light, prefers consistently moist soil, and loves extra humidity.
