Suzy Spafford began creating her iconic greeting card illustrations in the 1960s under the name Suzy's Zoo, featuring a charming cast of anthropomorphic animals. Her distinctive watercolor style and whimsical characters quickly captured the public imagination, leading to widespread licensing across stationery, home decor, and collectibles. Enesco partnered with Spafford in the late 1970s to produce a popular series of holiday collector plates that were distributed widely across North America.
