Product Details

Original WWII-era photographic postcard mailed August 16, 1943 from Camp McCoy, Wisconsin. Front features a black & white view of a Mississippi River excursion steamer at La Crosse, Wisconsin. Reverse contains a lengthy handwritten message discussing a weekend pass, traveling to Preston, Minnesota, and visiting a cousin who was a preacher. Addressed to Velma V. Franz of Sinclair, Wyoming and bearing a clear Camp McCoy, Wis. 1943 military-era postmark. A great piece of WWII-era personal correspondence combining military, Wisconsin and Mississippi River history. Vintage condition with age toning, spotting and edge/corner wear as shown. Writing and postal markings remain nicely legible.

About the Seller
At the heart of my shop sits a century old typewriter. By most standards, outdated, discarded & dismissed long ago. It stands as a quiet reminder that beauty & value aren’t determined by age, wear, or first impressions. Over time, I have realized that old things have a way of teaching us something about ourselves. A scuffed cover doesn’t diminish a good story. Tarnish doesn’t erase craftsmanship. And being forgotten doesn’t make something worthless. Of Moss & Mercy was built on the belief that beautiful things deserve to be found, loved, and remembered. What is overlooked is still worthy, what is lost can still be found, and what is forgotten can still be loved. Hang around & help me appreciate items once lost to time. -Candace 🖤
