A darling little two-slice toast rack in pink lustre, the whole thing wrapped in a red net transfer that shimmers mother-of-pearl when the light catches it. Three rounded arches on a squared base, small enough to live on a desk as a letter rack or by the kettle as a napkin holder. | SPECS: Two slots, three arches. Unmarked base. | HISTORY: Pink lustre is one of the great English pottery traditions, from the splashed Sunderland jugs of the 1820s to the Art Deco revivals of the 1920s and 30s. The net print and the pearly iridescent glaze on this piece read as an interwar production; no maker mark, so no attribution is claimed. | CONDITION: Fine crazing throughout, which we consider the good stuff.
