Product Details

M. J. Trow turns the Sherlock Holmes world on its head by putting Inspector Lestrade at the center of the story. In this comic mystery, Lestrade pursues a sinister killer and becomes entangled in the hunt for Jack the Ripper, while Holmes is pushed into the background. It’s a fun alternate take on the familiar Baker Street universe, with plenty of Victorian atmosphere and Sherlockian humor. This 1985 Stein and Day edition is the first U.S. edition of the first Lestrade novel, originally published in Britain as The Adventures of Inspector Lestrade. That makes it a nice piece of modern Sherlockiana, especially in the original dust jacket, and a natural companion to other Holmes pastiches and continuations.
