Product Details

A pair of neoclassical candlesticks in the most unexpected shade of ballet-slipper pink: fluted tapering columns with lion masks and swags on all four sides, beaded collars, gadrooned urn nozzles and stepped square plinths. Adam style, but make it blush. | SPECS: Pair, each approx. 8 to 9 in. tall *(confirm)*; matte pink finish over bisque or plaster body *(confirm material)*; hollow square base; unmarked apart from a moulded numeral inside the base. | HISTORY: The lion-mask and fluted-column form copies Georgian silver and Wedgwood black basalt candlesticks of the 1770s; painted pink, this pair belongs to mid-century decorator taste and is ready for a chintz-and-cream tablescape. | CONDITION: Wear and rubbing to the pink finish, small chips and flaking at the base edges and nozzle rims, old wax residue inside one nozzle, grime inside the bases. Sold as found; please review every photo. Stay crazed, darlings.
