Specs: Oval paneled platter, approx. 11 to 12 in. long (confirm). White ironstone-style body with copper lustre tea leaf centre and copper lustre band at the rim. Maker: Anthony Shaw & Son, Burslem, c.1891-1898. | History: Anthony Shaw registered the original tea leaf motif in 1856 and is credited as the first English potter to use it; it became the everyday workhorse pattern of American farmhouses for the rest of the century. Shaw's own pieces are the ones tea leaf collectors chase. | Condition: Copper lustre bright with light wear; crazing and warm age toning to the base.
