Product Details

From the New Cornelia Mine, Ajo, Little Ajo Mountains, Ajo District, Pima County, Arizona An ‘oversized' thumbnail of a velvet malachite replacing azurite crystals from the rare location of Ajo, AZ. The velvet malachite appears to have replaced a number of azurite crystals, though there is also a small crystal that almost looks like a flowstone of malachite on one side. There are some pin-head sized pockets of a light brown matrix material. This piece is in a 'large' (for a perky box) (Please note - this is still a teeny bit larger than a normal thumbnail specimen) perky box measuring 54 x 54 x 38 mm. There is an old label on the back interior face of the perky top. This piece is a former Kino Rock Shop (Tucson, AZ) specimen. Weighs 43.8 grams (with the perky box). Measures 32 x 31 x 30 mm. MalAjo-43-8

Hi! I'm Suzanne of Raining Rocks, located in Tucson, AZ. My partner (ilanabsparkly) and I offer meteorites, impactites, old collection minerals, rough, slabs, polished rocks and more! We love helping people find exactly what they’re looking for… but even more so, we love showing you minerals you never even knew you needed. 😃 Education is a primary passion for us; we love sharing our knowledge and always welcome questions. Every specimen you receive from us will come with a mineral label because we believe that provenance is a crucial part of this wonderful hobby… errr lifestyle. 😉 We’re queer and neurodivergent. This is a safe space. We welcome in everyone- but there’s no tolerance for hate, homophobia, or racism. Be kind. ✌🏼🪨💎☄️🌈
