Shogun Warriors comic book series from Marvel, which debuted in 1978 (though the first issue is cover-dated February 1979, actual distribution would have begun in late 1978): Writer: * Doug Moench wrote the vast majority of the series, including the early issues from 1978. He was instrumental in creating the mythology and human characters for the toy-licensed property. * Steven Grant took over writing duties for a few later issues in the run. Artists: * Herb Trimpe was the primary penciler for the early and most of the series. His dynamic style was well-suited for the giant robot action. * Dan Green was the primary inker for Trimpe's pencils on the early issues. * Later issues saw other artists contribute, including Mike Vosburg on pencils and Mike Esposito and Jack Abel on inks. So, if you have an issue from 1978, you're almost certainly looking at a story by Doug Moench with pencils by Herb Trimpe and inks by Dan Green.
