This beautiful brutalist pottery piece stands 8 1/2” tall and is 15 1/2” long. It can stand alone or be hung on the wall. The back is flat so it can easily be place on a bookshelf or fire mantle. The baby stands alone but is attached by Velcro. See all photos. Patricia manipulates the clay. Collapsing the cylinders of soft clay creates the folds that lend a unique character to each piece and stamp it with my signature. For coloring, a wash of manganese and iron or underglazes are added to these creatures, which are then fired to cone ten. The eyes are glazed to give them depth.
