This is a balanced all-purpose fertilizer than can be used on any plants. You can apply to the surface and or mix it into the soil for tropicals and houseplants and sprinkle it on the surface for orchids in bark mixes. Time-release fertilizer works by releasing a small amount of fertilizer each time you water. Apply a teaspoon per pot for 6" and smaller pots and a tablespoon or more for pots over 6". I apply at the beginning of each season. Osmocote is a great way to fertilize for those who forget to fertilize on a regular basis. This product can also be used as a supplement to regular fertilizer applications. Like with any fertilizer, always flush pots with running clear water monthly to flush out built up minerals and salts from any fertilizer.
