Prasiolite, also known as green quartz, green amethyst or vermarine, is a green variety of quartz. Today I am listing this one of a kind Green Amethyst Sugar Heart, loaded with natural clear quartz coming out of the green vermarine druzy crystals. Absolutely beautiful, exctreenly clear to the eye. This beautiful hear t weighs 6 ounces, 171 grams. Stands a little over 2 1/2" inches tall, is 3 1/4" inches wide, and very thick at 32 mm's". Pictures are of item you will recieve. Since 1950, almost all natural prasiolite has come from a small Brazilian mine. However, Naturally occurring prasiolite has also been found in the Thunder Bay area of Canada. Prasiolite is a rare stone in nature; artificial prasiolite is produced by heat treatment of amethyst. Most amethyst will turn yellow or orange when heated, producing heat-treated amethysts which are often marketed as citrine, but some amethyst will turn green when treated.
