When Bo picks up hitchhiker Carrie (Sally Field), he attracts the attention of Sheriff Buford T. Justice (Jackie Gleason). Angry that Carrie will not marry his son, Justice embarks on a high-speed chase after Bandit. Part 2 - Folk hero the Bandit has fallen on bad times but comes to life when he is hired to help transport a pregnant elephant to a Republican convention in Dallas. Arch-enemy Sheriff Buford T. Justice catches wind of the deal and resolves to spoil the Bandit's comeback. Part 3 - In this sequel, Big Enos Burdette (Pat McCormick) and his son, Little Enos (Paul Williams), make an unconventional deal by hiring bandit-hunting Sheriff Buford T. Justice (Jackie Gleason) to haul unusual cargo from Miami to their new Texas seafood restaurant. Intent on seeing that Buford has a tough time of it, however, they also recruit the rebellious Cledus Snow (Jerry Reed) and the lovely Dusty Trails (Colleen Camp) to make the lawman's trip less than smooth.
