Mint opals have an opaque white base withe bright flashes of green fire and subtle flecks of yellow. The fire really pops when encased in glass. Our square coin opals are are flat & polished on both sides and flat & polished along the edges. Gilson opal is a lab-created opal that's chemically similar to natural opal .
