WHY NOT A CHEAP PARTY LIGHT FROM WALMART? Cheap party lights are usually just a normal CFL or incandescent light with a green cover to make the light appear green. That "daytime" light spectrum is still hitting the plants, which is causing the same amount of stress as turning the light on during the night cycle. green LED is fully a green spectrum, which reflects off of the green leaves, reducing the stress on the plant while still allowing you to see what youre working on. plants will not process this green light as much as they would a normal flashlight. this is a specialty light used specifically for viewing and working on plants during their night cycle. Photosensitive plants that require a definitive day and night cycle can get shocked if they are exposed to white light (or "daytime" light spectrum). using a green light during those dark cycles can reduce the risk of shock, especially if that light needs to be on for more than 30 minutes during the dark cycle.
