Monk or friar ceramic salt and pepper shakers, 3 and 4 hole. I have not washed these, but I did empty out old salt and pepper from them so they have been used in the past. The three hole monk has eyes closed, he has a chip at the top of his robe just below his mouth. He has crazing throughout, a sticker underneath that says Made in Japan, he's stamped 2389 and has a plastic stopper The four hole monk has eyes open, a chip on the tip of his nose, small chips around two of his tip holes, crazing throughout, and marked 2389 on the bottom. He has a cork stopper.
