The back of the quilt is more neutral and has flowers, ethnic people and animals. Kantha quilts are handmade in India from recycled cotton saris and may have light flaws and lose threads. They are not padded or heavy like a quilt, more like 2 thin sheets sewn together with running stitches. Just washed in my homemade detergent and hung outside to dry. Nicer colors than my pictures. Its rare to find a black Kantha quilt.
